Vegas update part 4375

Hey Everyone!
We don't really have any news, I just felt like posting something on the blog. Okay, that's not true, I always have something to say.

Well, our dear little Checkers made it through surgery just fine. He had a luxated (sp?) patella which means that his kneecap and associated muscles kept slipping to the side of his leg. He's home and supposed to be taking it easy, not supposed to be jumping around or moving. So since he's an O'Hara dog, he's crafted a bungy cord out of elastic bands, invited the rottweiler from next door over and the poodles from down the street and having a krunk party. (I don't know what that means but the teenagers on our street keep talking about it).

Other than that nothing is new. Jay O'Hara is in town for a convention and I got to see him briefly (we really enjoy seeing any family - seriously - even Jay... ; ).

I really wish we could've made it home for the Aussie invasion but it just didn't work out for us. Sorry Dave.

Hope everyone up north is doing well, we miss you all .

Dale

A little news!!

Hope you don't mind me using this grapevine for a little news spreading.
I have an annoucement to make to those that didn't make the Aussie weekend.
I have met a very special man named Austin and on Friday, he proposed to me and I accepted.
We are getting married in Hawaii, on January 13, 2010.
I hope you will welcome him into our family as his family has welcomed me into theirs.

Help required

My girls need help.

Here is the problem: Two little girls(age 8 and 10) are arriving in a new country.

In their home country they have one Grandmother, and two uncle and aunties and less than five cousins.

In this new country they have: One Great Grandmother, Grandpa Canada, Nana Canada, Auntie Lisa, Cousin Josh, Cousin Dylan, Auntie Barb, Cousin Sadie, Auntie Maureen, Uncle Nick, Auntie Angie, Auntie Pat, Uncle John, Auntie Shirley, Auntie Linda, Uncle Rob, Auntie Joan, Uncle Dan, Uncle Jack, Auntie Darlene, Auntie Sharon, Uncle Lionel, Uncle Hal, and that is before we start on the cousins, first cousins, second cousins, extra cousins and other cousins.

This seems a bit scary to me. Here is my solution.
If you have time would you make up a family tree of your family - with names, ages and interests and send it back to me at dbernhardsen@shaw.ca If possible send pictures. I will combine it all into a walking around directory for the girls. They are practicing now to remember who belongs to who but this will not only help them while there are here but should be a great keep-sake when they return.

Thanks for your help - We have four really excited Aussies coming this way.

The Ausse's are coming! The Aussie's are Coming!

We have the word - September 15, 2009 at 4:10 p.m. the Aussie's will land in Canada and we may never be the same.
That's right - David, Tracy, Paris and Ashley land in Vancouver on Sept. 15. They will be in Canada until October 25. We are planning a get-together at the Lake on Saturday, Sept. 19 - but we have booked the hall for Friday, Saturday and Sunday so that gives us a lot of time to talk, play horeshoes, walk on the beach, on the pier, ride on the swing, walk the 4F Trail, watch the birds, camp, and do whatever you want in the fresh lake air. There is plenty of camping space, so make a weekend of it. We would love to see whoever can make it. If you have questions, give me a call at 780-222-9913 or our home number 780-760-9949. Now I am going to take a tranquilizer and go to bed.
